I was born in Houston, TX and raised in Bahrain, with Palestinian descent.
In the tenth grade I decided to be an environmental engineer. I wanted to provide rural communities with necessary quality-of-life infrastructure.
I recently graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign with a B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering.
Except instead of rural communities I studied energy, water, and environmental sustainability and Electrical Engineering. Things change. Most recently, our climate.
I crafted this website to showcase myself in engineering and the passions that have sustained me. At the conclusion of my undergraduate experience I needed to invigorate my passions by accessing my mind across multiple platforms : art, design, photography, and science.
Considering my education and personal activism, Climate Change is a fact I don't want to escape. I want to look back on my career and know that I did everything in my art to prevent / stop / mitigate it.
My current question is what type of career do I want? & what skills should I learn today to get there?
I don't know. But if I had to sum up my interests they'd be:
Using financial markets, available technology, and energy consumption data to develop and evaluate various policy models.
Defining different possible outlooks to prevent 2 degree celsius.
Interacting with some of the greatest minds working to prevent the effects of climate change and learn from them.
Learn both data-driven and on-site skills useful to understanding the effects and signifiers of climate change.
